A Relic

Deep inside         
an ache settles       
in sediments                     
Hardened emotions 
pressed together 
solidifying into an 
embittered crust     
concealing 
a molten lava    
of regrets       

Deposited 
upwards                                    
from the soles                             
aeons 
of experiences                     
fossilised 
in the bones

Sealed in skin 
stained by time                        
a relic for the ages
