Baby Makes Music

Plaintive cry 
shatters the quiet 
Rising crescendo 
of discordant notes 
stirs the heart
Keening bundle 
gathered into 
warm arms 
Rocking body 
plays a 
soothing melody
Agitated shrieks 
settle into 
a sniffling rhythm 
Gentle lullaby hums 
fade into silence 
Shhh.. peaceful  
The baby sleeps
